My Girl
I pray to the Lord
Who lives up above
To send me a girl -
Someone to love.
She doesn't have to be beautiful,
But pretty shined,
And Lord, if You can -
Make her heart kind.
She's gotta have class
And a sweet sorta grace,
And she's gotta light up
When she sees my face.
She'd care about others
With a little bit of style
And she'd take me to church
Every once and awhile.
I know You're real busy
So I'm not asking much.
Just a sweet little girl
That warms to my touch.

It's dark where I am
And it's hard to find the Light.
There are shadows all around me
And my heart is full of fright.
Everyone is cheerful.

Over a peaceful sea.
