Ode To Avalon

Post by jeberexa on Tue May 20, 2008 9:41 pm

I think this is probably one of my best poems ever. Read & critique, I always say!

Ode To Avalon (People Who Haven't Read T.A. Barron's The Great Tree of Avalon Series Might Not Understand...)

Starting with the root realms,
We shall so keenly explore,
A place existing in the mind,
The great tree of Avalon.

Starting in El Urien,
A place of many trees,
The Village of Prosperity,
Of Endless Mysteries.

Next we venture to Fireroot,
A place of barren land,
Of volcanoes and flamelons,
Hardly known to man.

Eastward to Shadowroot,
A truly terrifying place.
Home of the dark elves,
Masked by utter disgrace.

Southward to Airroot,
A place of twirling wind,
Extrememly amazing in all its parts,
Of fly great twirling mist!

Heading over to Maloch,
Place of new creation,
Home of the Wild Hoolahs,
An extremely diverse location.

Next we head to Stoneroot,
The Society of the Whole,
Hallia's Peak and Village of Bells,
Surrounded by Avalon's soul.

Last comes Brynchilla,
Home of flowing water,
The White Geyser of Crystillia,
Unfortunately draped with slaughter.

Next we venture up the tree,
to Middle Avalon,
Place of many mysteries,
And truths sought by explorers.

Starting nearest to the roots,
Beware! The Living Stones!
They haven't eaten in awhile,
And so dearly enjoy your bones.

Traveling upward to many tunnels,
Starting in the Great Hall of Heartwood,
Northwest to the Spiral Cascades,
Were music flows ever onward.

Next to a place of many mysteries,
To Merlin's Great Knothole,
The Lost Realm of Fire Angels,
And quests of mind and soul.

Ever upward the great tree flows,
All the way to the top.
The Starward Realm of
The Great Tree of Avalon.

Starting near the Golden Bough,
And up to the Wizard's Staff,
Rekindled so magically,
on Merlin and Tamwyn's behalf.

Northeast to The Mysteries,
And to the River of Time,
All the way over to Pegasus,
What an enormous climb!

Finally we'll end,
Near Merlin's Pinnacle,
In the vast Holosarr,
A place of many stars.

We've now come to the end,
Of this ever changing tree.
A vast and diverse place,
I hope you will agree.

So now I leave,
Young explorers, with a final thought,
Do you truly believe in Avalon,
Or was this all for naught?

Wow, this took awhile. I really don't have the energy to proof read it, so please tell me if any mistakes pop up! Thanks, Smile

Oh, wow.
This is one of your best.
This is great.
I love the old T.A. Baron series, but I've only read one book of the Great Tree of Avalon.
But that was great!

I love T.A. Barron's books! And I agree, that was really good! It's so long, but you didn't break the rhyming pattern or flow of the poem at all. I think that this poem probably is one of your best! Mr. Red

I haven't read those series but I still thought that your poem was good. Smile
