Rubik's Cube

Post by harrygz on Thu Sep 09, 2010 7:43 pm

Okay I honestly dont know why i'm posting this, since almost nobody knows or cares how to solve a rubik's cube, but if you do, post your best times in a comment. If you really want to you can also post a video of you solving the cube.

My best times:

2x2x2 Rubik's cube- 3.37sec

3x3x3 Rubik's cube- 17.43sec

4x4x4 Rubik's cube- something like 3 min

5x5x5 Rubik's cube- something like 5 min

Megaminx[twelve sided]Rubiks cube- something like 12 min

I'll post a video later.

You can also see some of my online records here.
These times arn't as good as my actual times but they're still pretty fast.

I've only ever got two and a half sides......then I'm afraid to mess with it because I don't want to mess it up again. I haven't figured out the pattern but I hear when you do it's really easy.
And I've only ever tried the standard sized one. I think it's 3x3

Yep, the standard size is the 3x3. They show how to solve it on rubiks.com
The 3x3 is my favorite and the one I spend the most time on.

Yeah I thought about looking up the pattern, but I figured the whole point was to figure it out on your own. I'm sure one of these days I'll just be like eh screw the point, I want to know! Razz

Thats what happened to me. I don't want to discouarge anybody but it's alot harder than just getting sides, and I dont see how somebody could just figure it out. On the other hand, I'm sure a few people have done it before, but you kind'uv have to take a very logical approach. Instead of thinking how to get a side, you have to think a about how to get a layer, or connecting peices to solve half the cube.

Yeah I think half the people that do solve it, solve it by accident and couldn't repeat the process. I don't even own a rubiks cube....which is good because I wouldn't do anything else until I solved it. I love those kinds of puzzles...and the ones with all the metal rings you have to remove....they're entertaining XD

I learned how to solve it, then bought a rubik's cube the next day. When I first solved it had that kind'uv mystical feel, even though I looked it up. I guess I never really cared about figuring it out, as much as telling my friends I could do it. Then, of course, they all had to learn to solve it, so I had to get faster than them. Thats when I learned the expert method. I still have tons of fun solving, and I probably do it up to 6 hours a day.

And I too love those puzzels with the metal rings. 017350 has them at his house, and he gets annoyed cuz thats all I want to do.

Yeah I'm sure one of these days I'll look it up. I'd still feel cool knowing how to do it Razz

Me too! My neighbors had them and I would just sit there until I could solve them! I'm actually pretty good at those ones for the most part unlike the rubiks cube XD

I found out that yesterday 017350 gait a rubik's cube on my recommendation, so I walked him through how to lubricate his cube.
