Editor Application

Heyya.
As you guys know, 017350 and OliviaofBolivia just made a great new group called Editors.
This is for people who want to help out editing and betaing stories.
And being so kind and good, they made me head. (Ah, shucks guys).

If anybody wants to join, there's a couple simple requirements.
1. You must be a full user, you cannot be half-banned.
2. You must be fully literate. This means that you have to have good spelling and grammar. (If you use spell check that's fine. I couldn't live without spell check)
3. You must have 35 posts.
4. You must apply by filling out the application below. You don't have to fill out all of it, if you don't want to. It just helps me get a sense of your ability as a writer. Only some of it will be posted on this thread. I just want a sense of you as a person and as a writer.

Strengths as an editor/writer: I'm good at working through plot holes. I'm good with characterization. I can manipulate sentences to make them less awkward. I am also good at hooks, I can make a good beginning or end.
Weaknesses as an editor/writer: My grammar and spelling are all because of spell-check. I'm not good at those things naturally. I can pick out the basics.

Strengths as an editor/writer: I have great grammar and spelling. Although I sure wish I has spell check on my computer. Trust me though, my grammar is much better in stories than it is in posts. I can always create a good mystery plot. It's just a talent I have. Also, I'm not too bad at creating Original Characters.
Weaknesses as an editor/writer: I'm not too good at critting other peoples stories. I can do a little if I really try, but not much. Also, my FanFiction characters can be a bit OOC sometimes

Favourite genre of writing (eg. Romance): Oh, I can honestly like most genres. I am rather fond of angst, humour and slash romance, though.
Strengths as an editor/writer: As an editor, I suppose I spot some errors easily and most often have some suggestion about how it could be fixed. As a writer, I sometimes get my formulations right.
Weaknesses as an editor/writer: As an editor, I hate saying negative things. It makes me feel embarrassed, because I don't want to give the impression that I think I'm better than anyone. And I'm a little fast, so I make a lot of typos. Plus I procrastinate alot sometimes. As a writer, the two last points still still apply, and I'm helpless with plots.

Strengths as an editor/writer: I'm pretty good at catching grammar and spelling issues, and checking for flow.
Weaknesses as an editor/writer: Well...I can sometimes get pretty mean when I don't like something. I'm a tough editor, and I sometimes edit a bit more than others do. All as a way to make you a better writer, of course. But some people take offense.

What you want help with (grammar, plot, characters, wording): I just need help with some set ups, and I wouldn't mind help choosing which ones to use (I often write a couple drabbles for each subject). Just general help and opinion would be appreciated.

Why you want to become an editor: Because I am a grammar geek sometimes, and helping people like that seems the only way to use that constructively...
Tell a little bit about yourself: I'm a weirdo. Even the weird guys think I'm weird. Very inconsequent, trying to help it, but helplessly failing. King of bad puns. Sings all the time, eats apples in odd ways, randomly shoves an ipod-headset into peoples arms saying, man, you've just got to hear this song! And I'm usually right about that.

Eventually, though, it'll be a requirement.

I say with 5 editors it should be a requirement. But since BlackOpal is the head of the group it is entirely her descision on everything to do with editors.(as long as it follows the FORUM RULES.)

Do you mean that after we have 5 editors it should be a requirement? Because that sounds good to me.
